At Marshall Sylver’s Turning Point event in Las Vegas in May 2009, he challenged us, the entrepreneurs in the room, to give back. “Oh by the way, if you give back it needs to be bigger!” From that very challenge, on the way back to San Diego, my husband Steve and I thought bigger than we could have imagined and created Wounded Warrior Homes. We provide transitional housing and integrative support services to post 9/11 veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress and Amputees. In December of 2009 we were incorporated and on Sept 14, 2012 we opened our doors to our first veteran. To date we have served 49 veterans through transitional housing and over 3,000 veterans nationwide with referrals to support services in their area. Thank you Marshall for the nudge!
